Services for 7th Graders
It may sound at first as though 7th grade is too early
to start thinking about college. It's not. This is the perfect time
to set the student on a course for college. College Prep Counseling's
consultations for 7th grade students and their families consist
of one family meeting, plus
phone, email, or in-person consultation during
the rest of the year to answer questions and address any concerns.
The family meeting includes:
- advice on selection of prerequisite courses for a college preparatory high-school curriculum
- an overview of reading and writing proficiency requirements for a successful high-school career
- a review of student interests that can be developed in depth in the high-school years
- advice on PSAT and SAT test preparation through authentic long-term skill development
- a brainstorming of ideas for fun family summer activities that can enhance and encourage the student?
academic and extracurricular endeavors.
