Services for 9th Graders
The 9th grade year is the first year of academic
work included in the student's grade point average calculations
for most colleges. College Prep Counseling's consultations for 9th
grade students and their families consist of two meetings with
the student and family, plus phone and email consultations
throughout the year to answer questions and address any concerns.
The services will include:
- an overview of what colleges will be looking for in the student? high school experiences
- advice on selection of college preparatory academic courses for 10th-12th grades
- recommendations for early preparation for PSAT and SAT exams
- an in-depth interview with the student to determine student interests and
to recommend related extracurricular and summer activities
- a consultation regarding the student? study habits, and advice on how those might be improved
in order to increase the student? grade point average, if improvement is needed.
