Summer 2008 Application Intensive Workshops with Beth Pickett
What's the #1 recommendation of students who have just been through the college application process? Start early.
This workshop helps students complete their college applications
in the summer, when they have time to think clearly, get organized, and do their best work.
During the workshop, participants will:
- make a list of colleges to which they will apply
- set up an organizational system to keep the paperwork in order
- fill out the Common Application and any college-specific supplements required
- review any applications from colleges on their list that don't use the Common App
- prepare their letter of recommendation packets
- compile their student resumes
- write their application essays
- learn about financial aid (parents welcome to sit in)
- create a senior year calendar of important dates and deadlines
The workshop is taught by Beth Kneeland Pickett, Stanford '86, founder of
College Prep Counseling and host of the radio show "Countdown to College," which made its debut on WNSH AM 1570 in the Boston area on May 24, 2008.
Class size is limited to 20 students, so reserve your spot early. Update: July 9, 2008: SORRY, BUT WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS.
